The psychologist Carl Jung believed that universal, mythic characters—archetypes—reside within everyone’s unconscious the world over. As humans evolved over time, these archetypes have come to represents common emotional patterns displayed by all people. Well-known examples of Jung’s archetypes within our psyche include the Victim, the Hero and the Caregiver. In the Noble Warrior program by Lorna Johnson, we discover a variety of archetypal patterns which arise in our professional lives and have a direct impact on our success.
Two archetypal patterns from the Noble Warrior program are called the Saboteur and the Magician. The Saboteur represents our super brilliant logical mind and the Magician represents our Soul’s inner voice or intuition. Either can stop you in your tracks if you don’t understand the importance of both when monetizing your mission.
At the same time, your Magician (or your soul’s voice) is talking to you – in fact, it’s talking to you every moment of every day. You can recognize it as the small voice that you hear at first only when you are quiet. As you learn to trust your intuition and begin to experience moments of living by its guidance, that inner voice becomes louder and finally, with focus and practice it become the faithful and reliable Guide to whom you listen.
But ask yourself: “What typically stops me from listening to my Magician to create my most exciting life?” The answer is easy . . . of course, it’s your Saboteur. You begin to realize that your Saboteur has been running the show with your tacit, unknowing approval – keeping you afraid, stressed out and holding you back from trusting your gut instincts.
Ironically, both the Saboteur and the Magician are required for your business success. In my corporate life, I found that that best business leader was the one who could look at a brilliant business proposal and logically assess its feasibility for success. This same business leader would then say, “My gut says, let’s do this!” He or she was engaging their intuition to make the final call.
Up to now, your logical (fear-based) mind has run your outer world and your intuition (soul-based) has run your inner world. It is time now for you to allow your intuition to run both your outer and inner worlds. Let your Magician run your life for the moment and give your Saboteur a much-needed vacation. But perhaps you may be thinking: “But what about my mind’s brilliance? “
Well, what if during this hiatus you happen to discover that your Soul’s brilliance is your true genius? It is your Soul’s genius that is connected to the unlimited brilliance of the Universe! By its very definition the Universe is unlimited, which in turn makes you open to unlimited success. Unfortunately, you cannot get to your most expanded self when you are locked in to the restrictive nature of your logical mind.
Want to break out of the logical rut you’re in and let your intuition shine through? Then go inside to make all of your decisions and find your profound creative nature. Your Soul will give you suggestions that make beautiful sense and sometimes absolutely no logical sense. Do them anyway. All of your Soul’s guidance has led you to this exact moment in time to fulfill your mission here on Earth. Once you are willing to connect more deeply to your intuition, you will receive both profound – and practical – guidance from your Soul.
