We’re in the heat of the summer… We’re dripping with sweat… Imagine a yummy treat that can cool you off—and it’s healthy too! Since my children were very young, I have been making homemade popsicles for them. As they get older, they can participate in the process. It can be a lot of fun! Here are two fun recipes you can do with your kids.

Fruit Smoothie Popsicle:

Ingredients:

    • ½ cup ‘watery vegetable’ like cucumber or zucchini
    • 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit (preferably organic or not sprayed) like berries, banana, mango, pineapple
    • 1 tbsp raw local honey
    • ½ cup water
    • Optional: Probiotic (open capsule and pour into blender)
    • Optional: ½ cup unsweetened coconut yogurt (optional but makes popsicles creamier! You can also substitute with another type of plain yogurt)

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients into blender
2. Blend until smooth consistency throughout
3. Pour mixture into popsicle mold
4. Freeze until frozen through
5. Enjoy on hot day!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie Popsicle

    • 1 tspn vanilla extract
    • Optional: Probiotic (open capsule and pour into blender)

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients into blender
2. Blend until smooth consistency throughout
3. Pour mixture into popsicle mold
4. Freeze until frozen through
5. Enjoy on hot day!
